Description

In 1619 Mary felt inwardly disturbed at living without sufferings, trials or oppositions. She fancied these would purify her soul and render her works more pleasing to God. But when she laid these thoughts before our Lord in the most Holy Sacrament of the altar, He showed her plainly that her distress was not pleasing to Him because it came from self-will, which He wanted her completely detached from.
